Tamil Nadu produces the highest GDP and Chennai is being one of the industrial hubs and it obviously gives the goals to other states to form great firms and industries. TV Sundaram Iyengar started this multinational motorcycle company. It has four manufacturing plants and headquarter is placed in Chennai. TV Sundaram started bus service in Madurai which later diversified into automobile production and emerged as TVS Group. TVS grew as the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer company in India. Now they are providing world-class high-quality vehicles to the customers at the right price. They have more than 22 million customers in India.
Murugappa Group is one of India’s largest business group. This group manages around 28 businesses including NSE and BSE. Murugappa group manages different sectors like Abrasives, Auto Components, Transmission systems, Cycles, Sugar, Farm Inputs, Fertilizers, Plantations, Bio-products and Nutraceuticals. Mammen Mappillai started from manufacturing toy balloons to nylon tyres. MRF became the first Indian company to export tyres to the USA.
Nalli silk is being famous for its silk and Kanchipuram sarees. Nalli silks is established in the year of 1928. In the span of 90 years, Nalli started to provide best collections of sarees from different materials and they also provided traditional silks to lightweight fabrics like crepes, chiffons, and georgette sarees.
Now Nalli becomes one of the leading brands in saree industry. Nalli Kuppusami Chetti, a famous industrialist from Kancheepuram inherited his family business and trademarked Nalli Silks. Now they are having chains of showrooms in India as well as the USA.
Saravana Bhavan has an interesting history. In the later years of the 20th century, there were no restaurants in Chennai. P Rajagopal started a small hotel which had been named as Saravana Bhavan in the year of 1981 in Chennai.
Within 20 years, Hotel Saravana Bhavan has huge numbers of customers around Tamil Nadu and it had opened its first franchise outside India, in Dubai in the year of 2000.
Now hotel Saravana Bhavan expended its branches in Paris, Frankfurt, London, New York, and Dallas. They have 68 outlets across the world now.
